Its all about Jesus. Oooh how he loves us

The serpent in us

I used to think back in the days that the snake was Satan himself and I would curse demons every time I saw it come around. Until one day I understood one thing!!!!
The serpent was not the problem, it was just a vessel that Satan possessed and lead the first man into temptation. It’s like any other creature out there.

Genesis 3:1 The serpent was the most cunning/ shrewd of the animals that God had created. This makes me believe that God had gifted the serpent with stunning beauty that it just couldn’t go unnoticed and Satan possessed it for the same reason and made it become knowledgeable and deceitful.

Today we’ve people, servants of God that have been or yet to be blessed with gifts and awesome talents that surpass other’s, they’re undeniably gifted I mean. They speak and people are inspired, they sing and people are touched, they pray and heaven comes down but like the serpent, the devil is targeting them to fulfill his cause in different fields of life which is to steal, kill and destroy John 10:10 . Whereas these gifts are meant to be for the glory of God and the benefit of our neighbours, the devil is more likely to use them for his good if the beholders are not firm.

Do not allow to be use your talents for evil deeds but rather the glory of the Kingdom of heaven which is at hand

Remember the parable of talents: Matthew 25:13-40 You’ll stand accountable for what your Master gave to you some day.

God owes you nothing

God doesn’t owe you anything, but you owe Him a Great deal starting from the salvation He offered through Jesus which you’ve perhaps not embraced till today even with your heart’s conviction, to the much that He has done for you even in your disobedience.
So stop doing things thinking that without you, God has no other, He is more than able to lift people to do what you’ve failed, perfectly and on time. Maybe you’re thinking like Elijah 1Kings 19:14-17 Infact they already exist but you’re only favored to be the workman that God requires.

There fore, stop the self pride and do the Master’s work knowing that its all for your good and the your generations to come. Knowing that God resists the proud but the humble He lifts.

Boast in knowing God rather than the good works, miracles, signs and wonders that He has manifested through you.

We are workmen IN A field and Jesus our Master expects results on His return remember that every tree that bears no fruit He cuts off, so it is our obligation to give results.

John 15:2 Every branch in Me that doesn’t bear fruit He removes, and He prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit.

The change that we crave for : Are you preaching or teaching?

Change is a factor of life but it doesn’t come automatic, something must spark it out.
Some people don’t desire to change because they don’t find it important and they find no need to!! ~~~~All seems well with them even when it’s not in the other’s point of view.~~~

  • Infact Preachers, teachers and Evangelists existed before the time of Jesus but why were they not able to impact?
  • God saw it necessary to send His only son to human kind in flesh so that He could inspire, teach and transform their minds to the necessity of their redemption. Jesus taught through out his ministry before He was crucified so that His crucification could sink deep in the hearts of men. The Pharisees and rulers hated him because he was of great influence to the people with his message.

Some of us will say that this impact and influence was because He was a son of God, But put this in mind: Jesus had to be flesh, feel pain and affection and have Passion like all human beings in order to be an acceptable sacrifice. Yes indeed He was a living sacrifice. what you feel he felt. What you’re going through, He did go through it. The troubles and resistance you’re facing, He faced and over came.

This was only because the Spirit of God was with Him. The same Spirit He promises to send to us as a helper and infact He did so we could do greater things than He did.

So a question out of that arises in my mind.

Is the church today only preaching or also teaching?

Both of the above are necessary in today’s church but the danger is if one suppressed the other.

Only persons that perceives and understand what they are talking about teach, this means they can transfer the knowledge they have to others so that they can also understand through their teachings. Infact the Holy Spirit is a great teacher because the instant the apostles received, they learnt and spoke new tongues.

Preachers and prophets say what they have heard, learnt or inspiration by the Spirit of God. Infact to most of them it’s just theology which only excites but doesn’t root faith but is fulfilled by the will of God.

A preaching church inspires but a teaching church roots and builds believers into  faith because they perceive  the value of what they believe and follow.

Amazed

I was out for an outreach crusade when I finally spotted this guy with something wooden,

Which plucked strings like a guitar.
On a closer look I realised that it was real, the melodies were natural and he played it good. He played me nice gospel music and I just kept thanking God for His gifts given unto men.

Nature of God |Theistic

God is real and exists in every aspect of life and all areas of concern for His creations which makes Him have a human-like behavior  making Him alive and existing.
Scriptures point out that God has hands Exodus 7:5, a face Numbers 6:24, mouth Psalms 33:6, eyes Psalms 34:15, ears Psalms 34:15

Psalms 94:9 He who planted the ear, does He not hear? He who formed the eye, does He not see?

Change of mind

Exodus 32;14, “So the Lord changed His mind about the harm which He would do to His people”

2Samuel 24:16 When the angel extended his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the LORD relented from His judgment. He told the angel who was killing the people, “That is enough!, Stop  now!”

A God of covenants and respects them.

Genesis 9:16 When the rainbow is in the clouds , I will notice it and remember the perpetual covenant between God and all living creatures of all kinds that are on the earth.”

He makes covenants  with His people and forgives their sins Jeremiah 31:33-34

God in His omnipotent nature but rests too

Genesis 2:2 By the seventh day God finished the work he had been doing, and He rested on the seventh day from all the work He had been doing.

God asks Adam where he is!!! Yet He is in all places omnipresent

Genesis 3:9 So the LORD called out to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”

Jealous

Exodus 20:5 “You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me”

Merciful/ Pitiful/ Compassionate/ Gracious;

Judges 2:18 “…for the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed and afflicted them.”

Luke 6:36” Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”

Regret

Genesis 6:6, “And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He grieved in His heart.”

1Samuel 15:35, “And Samuel did not see Saul again until the day of his death; for Samuel grieved over Saul. And the Lord regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.”

HATES

Psalms 11:5 Jehovah tries the righteous: but the wicked and those that love violence His soul hates.

Wrath  and anger

Rev 6:16 And they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb,

PSALMS 95:11  So I swore in My anger, “They will not enter My rest.”

Our God is always there for the thing He created, to look out for them, protect them, love them, provide and all in all give them their  freedom to make their own choices.

ISAIAH 54:5   Indeed, your husband is your Maker — His name is Yahweh of Hosts — and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He is called the God of all the earth.

Isaiah speaks of Him as the HUSBAND TO WIDOWS, Father to the Orphans, comforter through His Spirit, hope to the hopeless and our redeemer.

Other gods are deistic, they cannot fight; they are defenseless, they cannot speak and hardly do anything for their creations but the creations  rather care for them.

Malachi 3:6 FOR I THE LORD DO NOT CHANGE; THEREFORE YOU, O CHILDREN OF JACOB, ARE NOT CONSUMED.

IMMUTABLE

Our God doesn’t change at all ; He is the same today, yesterday and forever throughout the ages He is the same MALACH 3:6

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the same God of Moses, Elijah, Micah, Isaiah, Jeremiah  and He is the same God who worked through Jesus in that age and still the same God that we preach about today to the nations.

In God there is no variation or shadow cast because of His change in otherwise He will never draw His light away from His people.

JAMES 1:17 Every good perfect gift comes from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

HATE BEING STAGNANT AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD

Deutronomy 2:2 And the LORD said to me 3 that “We have wandered in these hills far too long, that we should head north”
We are all on a journey, not knowing what tomorrow will be or how far we shall go. Your tomorrow, my tomorrow all depends on our maker, the Almighty who in Him our future is mapped, He has a perfect plan for each and everyone.

God had planned for the Israelites a smooth journey from Egypt to the promised land, yet not for no reason…they were supposed to go and serve Him.

All they needed to do was listen, obey and follow the Lord’s direction through Moses. In fact God promised to be with them all the way!!! Through a thick cloud, a pillar of fire He showed them His presence.

They were on a journey but their disobedience and disbelief in the Lord made their journey harder than it had to be, God couldn’t stick with them like He had promised because of their sinful nature and although He assigned an Angel to lead them, most of them died in the desert and didn’t reach the promised land.

Like the Israelites, God set course for everyone, whether you believe in Him or not and with Him alone you can reach the final destination. Most of us are lost in the middle of no where, not knowing who we are, why we exist and wondering if it matters how we live our lives!!!

As the Israelites doubted if they would conquer the land of the Amorites that God had given to them even when He was with them, and they settled on Horeb with comfort, had children, set up structures as if they had reached their destiny and most of us are alike them. We too have relaxed in amidst the journey to what God wants us to achieve and become just because we’re comfortable with the less we’ve achieved and doubt if we are able to move forward. We feel like we have toiled much to get where we are now, forgetting that it isnt our doing but the grace of God which is sufficient for everyone.

But a voice is waking you today saying you’ve stayed here too Long, get up and move on, There is a land flowing with honey and milk ahead of you.

We’re meant to have 100 fold on earth and in heaven, but not by power or might but by the Spirit of God.  As long as you live let your soul know that the Lord who started a good work in you is more than able to accomplish it.

What exactly could be the reason you’re stagnant in your affairs?

Maybe you’ve left the proper path that you’re supposed to follow!!

Or maybe, you no longer listen to the voice of God and act accordingly!!

Or rather you have decided to thank other gods or people for the success that you’ve achieved and have forgotten the Almighty!!!!

Genesis 12:1 Abraham the father of believers sets off his course from his father’s land where it was comfortable to a land he didn’t know about but all the way his success was because he listened to God, following His commands, giving thanks by building altars where it was due and never did he regret or complain thus he saw the glory of God.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. 6 Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will make your paths straight.
